How it started

Women in Tech Meet Up Birmingham really started from a simple conversation back in 2025. I had been speaking with the Reed Women in Tech Network about bringing something to life in person — creating a space where women in tech could actually come together, connect and support one another.

But as the idea grew, it became clear this needed to be more than just an event. It wasn’t just about a date in the calendar — it was about creating something meaningful, something people genuinely needed.

So in September 2025, that idea turned into something much bigger… a community. A space where women could feel seen, supported and confident to be themselves. A place of belonging, where real conversations happen and genuine connections are made.

The journey since then has been incredible. From those early conversations to bringing the vision to life, it’s only been possible because of the amazing people who believed in it from the very beginning.

They didn’t just back an event, they backed the vision of creating something lasting for women in tech. Alongside our speakers, partners and wider community, they’ve helped shape WITBHAM into what it is today.

Looking ahead, we’ll be building towards our next event in 2027… but this isn’t about waiting until then.
